    Hi. Can you please provide proof and evidence for everything you say. So much of this is not correct.

  • @narrowistheway77

    I’ve broken so many pairs of Burton Cartels and Malavitas over the years(I never broke any EST baseplates though), I’m amazed you guys would think they’re so strong. I’ve never broken a pair of Union or Rome bindings though, those have been absolutely bombproof in my experience

  • @narrowistheway77
    @narrowistheway77 4 дня назад

    Whatever studies you guys are noting that says your differential shouldn’t be more than 30 degrees is definitely wrong. It depends on a multitude of things, like boot size, board waist width, rider height, stance width, riding style, etcetera…. My personal preference is riding with a differential of 39 degrees with a +27/-12 and it’s absolutely perfect for extreme style freeriding and carving. You do need to use quite a bit of high back lean as well to properly set up that way, but nonetheless, I’ve been snowboarding for about 30 years and have ridden hundreds of board/binding setups and experienced plenty of variations in setups. There’s definitely no 30 degree rule, it absolutely doesn’t hurt your knees to go past that if your width is properly set up, the more angled is the more extreme you intend to ride

    • @snowboardguru6794
      @snowboardguru6794 2 дня назад

      Thank you. They’re wrong about so many things.

      @@snowboardguru6794 Really it’s just your rear leg that you need to be careful about overly canting if you’re planning to freeride and make massive cliff drops, ride pillows, etcetera. There’s truth about not overly canting your rear leg for knee reasons, but that really doesn’t apply to the front foot at all, in my experience you can get higher levels of control in aggressive riding with the front foot canted more forward and stomp massive landings and make on a dime sweeping turns in a style that would even make Travis Rice proud haha. The stance I mentioned above is never intended to ride switch either. I can land switch in that stance if absolutely necessary, and I’ve done it thousands of times, but it’s not ideal. For freestyle park riding or freestyle carving I usually set up +12/-12 up to +18/-18 and it depends on the board’s width in the waist as well as underfoot along with the board’s length for how I set that up. Freestyle is also a much wider stance for me, from 23.5” for freeriding I bump it up to 25” for freestyle(I’m 6’ 2” with size 12 boots as a reference). As for these guys recommending a posi/posi stance I’d have to say they’re giving overall bad advice in this video other than admitting backcountry should always be a duck stance. Posi/posi can be super fun on swallowtail fish boards and other surf inspired board shapes if you’re just wanting to mess about and have some fun, but as soon as you go posi/posi you’re sacrificing huge levels of board control when you go off-piste. I really only recommend posi/posi for surf style boards on days with 4-10” of fresh snow when you’re just trying to have a little fun on the white waves but not trying to grip and rip down the mountain side, or posi/posi on groomers if you’re using a narrow waisted race board with a hard boot setup. Other than that, posi/posi is just missing out on the true experience of what snowboarding is meant to be. Considering their ages and the amount they go riding I’m kinda amazed they gave such bad advice in this video

    Hey guys, just an FYI, Burton’s Directional Camber is way different from their S-Camber. The S-Camber was actually completely powder specific and featured camber solely under the rear foot with progressive rocker from the midline of the waist forward to the nose, and the upkick in the rocker was more dramatic beyond the front insert pack. I still own the 2016 Burton Barracuda(primarily for decoration purposes at this point since I have so many newer boards), which was the evolution of the older Malolo, and that board has the S-Camber. Truly it is a wonderful experience to ride an S-Camber board in deep snow, the Malolo that preceded the Barracuda was the first popsicle style board I ever rode in deep powder where I felt like I was riding a fish, except one that was capable of stomping landings when dropping off mini cliffs in the backcountry haha. The Barracuda got a way better core and lost around a pound in weight compared to the Malolo that preceded it. Honestly that board is still totally rideable today if I wanted to take it out thanks to Burton using their infinite ride process by that time but there’s so much new tech in the boards coming out now that I just keep moving forward and buying new stuff hahaha. The S-Camber boards were always kinda sketchy on groomers since it was basically rear steer only and just totally ridden off the tail on anything flat, but that’s not where those boards were designed to be ridden anyways. Those boards were just all out powder slayers. Even with the narrower waist lines that boards of that era inherently had compared to today, the design produced absolutely unsinkable boards that felt fun and surfy on the deep days. Anyways, Burton hasn’t made an S-Camber board for several years now and their directional camber is way different, it’s much more friendly to the groomer experience and making traverses for sure 😉👍🏼

    Thank you guys, for such an awesome season of videos! Always looked forward to the next one, and learned SO much this year! Your J Stone vid is the reason I now own an Alchemist. Can't wait for the next ones. Your efforts in these is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks guys, I'm definitely going with the ultra for my awesome new Jamie Lynn deck. I'm a powder snob so I like a little cushion when it's not powder.

    Always good! My boards (w/o bindings) get stacked horizontally on a wall shelf for the summer with wooden shims between each deck to prevent flattening and retain the profiles. Not sure if it's necessary, but it's cheap, easy, and looks cool. 🤙

    That was great, never thought much about boot flex before. Would you choose a stiff or soft boot to pair with Union Force on a Jones Mountain Twin?

      Its still preference , Fawcett would choose a Still Boot , where Shane would go softer on that set up! Depends how aggressive your carving style is or if you lean more towards freestyle riding!

    Nice one fellas, ive just picked up a 160 Endeavour Scout, i already have EST Genesis bindings but want to try something different. Do you think the Union Falcor would pair with this deck?
